The museum is the result of 35 years of passion from the owners, Mr and Mrs Boniface, and a collection of objects from the First World War. The owners’ love of the fort compelled them to buy it in 1996, and then to open a museum in 2003. Today, it is known for its quality and the richness of its collections, which place the museum in the highest category of visitor attractions. It must be pointed out that since 1996, all of the restoration work has been financed exclusively by the family. No subsidy has been given to help with the preservation of the site.
